Established in 1899, Launceston Golf Club is one of Australia’s oldest golf clubs and holds an important place in Tasmania’s golfing history. Located at Kings Meadows, just minutes from central Launceston, it is Tasmania’s oldest 18-hole golf course and provides travelling golfers with a traditional parkland experience within easy reach of the city.
The club’s current course dates to 1901 and is set amongst mature native bushland, with towering eucalypts, blackwoods and wattles framing its fairways. More than a century of development has given the course an established character that contrasts beautifully with the coastal links for which northern Tasmania has become internationally renowned. Launceston Golf Club has hosted the Tasmanian Open Championship on numerous occasions, along with the Australian Junior Championships, and remains an important part of the state’s golfing landscape.

Launceston Golf Club is an 18-hole, par-72 parkland course measuring approximately 5,808 metres (6,352 yards) from the back tees.
Carved through established native bushland, the course is defined by tree-lined playing corridors and mature stands of eucalypt, blackwood and wattle. Despite its convenient suburban location, the density of the surrounding vegetation gives much of the course a secluded and distinctly Tasmanian atmosphere.
